IELTS reading part requires good reading skills and good vocabulary. The passages are made to confuse the reader so that pupils often write wrong answers.

Most common mistakes happen when a candidate doesn’t know the meaning of a word. This is not the candidate’s fault. Rather, these words are like a trap to test.

1) Remunerative:

It means benefit. Sometimes, there would be written about anything’s benefit, but using the word ‘Remunerative’.

Example:

The remunerative of this water desolator is huge.

2) Predial:

It means primitive or something very old.

Example:

Scientists have found a primitive gene from the deadbody.

3) Foliage:

It means leaf. 🍃

Example:

The Huarango tree has bug foliages, which turn into green in the summer.

4) Hollow :

It means that the inside of something is empty.

Example:

It’s impossible for an egg to be hollow from inside.

5) Pit :

It means hole in the ground.

Example :

Sometimes squirrels make a pit to hide their food.
